DIY Abstract Wall Painting

If you don’t have so many of them, ask your friends or neighbors if they have some. Take a plywood board and attach the corks to it, using mastic or glue. Now, cut the yarn twice as long as you want your wall hanging to be. Fold the piece of yarn twice and place the folded end over the branch towards the front. Pass the ends of yarn through the loop and pull tight. Do the same with the rest of yarn.
When all the pieces of yarn are on the branch, you may play with the length. For instance, you can make an asymmetrical angle as well as V, W or curve form. Now, use a brush, watercolors and water to create splashes of color around and over the phrase. By using less water, you will make the color more concentrated and if you want two colors to blend, do that with a wet brush. After the watercolor dries, pull of the masking fluid.
Chevron Wall Art
You need 70 7-8 inches long wooden shims. Cut one end of each shim at a 45-degree angle. Place half of the shims on the surface in such a way that all their ends point in the same direction. Now, place the second half of the shims so that their angles were opposite the angles of the first set. Divide the shims into seven groups by 10.
Using a spray paint, color each group into a different color and let the pieces dry. Draw three vertical lines on the wall, which will serve as center lines for your chevrons. Attach sticky tabs to the back of each shim. Place the shims with the cut ends along the line on the left side and then on the right side, forming the chevron pattern. In such a way, create three wall decor pieces.
Faux Metal Flower Wall Art
Metal wall art decor and sculptures are in trend now. However, the DIY projects with metal are pretty hard and can’t be fulfilled by everyone. That’s why, we offer you a substitution. This project is a lighter and cheaper alternative to the usage of real metal.
