If the cafe is situated in the city, where there are many young people and students, you can choose a theme, connected to their way of life. It can be a certain movie or popular TV series, sports, which are popular in the region, or music bars.
However, choosing a theme, according to the location, isn’t the only way out. It’s also a wonderful idea to create something that is rather uncommon for the region. For example, a restaurant in African style just in the centre of New York. In such a way, your guests will be able to distract from all the problems of their everyday life and feel as if they were out of the city. Here, it’s necessary not only to decorate the walls with beautiful African style pictures, but also add some other accessories, which are typical for Africa (masks, elements of garments or fake skins of animals). African music is a must have of a restaurant in this style. Pop songs or mixed tracks can break the atmosphere. That’s why, you’d better forget about them. And the last key point here is the staff. It would be cool if they have some traditional clothes on or, at least, some elements of it. Thus, you will make your restaurant or bar homogeneous and your visitors will feel like they are far away from home.

In fact, there are thousands of themes, which can be used in restaurants, and their number constantly grows. You are free to go far away from the known themes and create something special. One of the ways to do it is to use your hobbies. If you are a fan of art, create an art cafe. You are free to dedicate it to a certain painter, artistic movement, genre, style or age. For example, if you like modern art, be sure that it will be a wonderful theme for a restaurant. Though the design itself can be rather simple here, the use of numerous works of art is required. Modern sculptures, paintings, photos and other art forms ? everything can be used here. If you have no ability to buy such works of art, you can order art-illustration posters, depicting the things you need. Moreover, as abstractionism is extremely popular nowadays, you can use some abstract posters as an addition to the decoration. Such a creative restaurant design will look gorgeous if you add some functional things, which are also a part of modern art, for example, original chandeliers, hand-made chairs and tables or flower pots. The most amazing in being an owner of such a restaurant is that you not only treat the customers but also help them to educate and develop.
